Cold Emails That Get Replies: A 5-Minute Framework

Here’s a quick way to write a decent cold email without staring at a blank page:

  • Observation (1 line): Something specific about them: a hiring spike, product release, tech stack.
  • Tension (1 line): “Teams I speak with hit X problem when Y happens.”
  • Outcome (1 line): “We helped {peer} reduce {pain} by {result}.”
  • Soft ask (1 line): “Worth a 12-minute chat next week?”

Keep it under 90 words. No attachments. No “hope you’re well.” Send it, then get back to work. Consistency beats cleverness.
